The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka granted investment approval for the establishment of KAATSU Highly Advanced Medical Technology Training Centre in Sri Lanka. The Chairman/ Director General, Mr. Dhammika Perera signed the agreement and formally presented the BOI Certificate of Registration to Dr. Jagath Seneviratne, the Managing Director of KAATSU Highly Advanced Medical Technology Training Centre (Pvt) Ltd.boi

It is indeed a significant event for students all over the world, as the establishment of the university would provide an opportunity for them to receive an unparalleled higher education. The Founder and Chancellor of kiu, Professor Sir Yoshiaki Sato is the inventor of the KAATSU Training method which is currently being adopted by many countries in the world. Thus, KIU is expected to provide KAATSU teaching and training methodology for students through the graduate and undergraduate programs it offers.

KIU is expected to have about 300 international students for the initial intake. Mr. M. A. Ariyaratna, Director of KAATSU Highly Advanced Medical Training Centre stated that the institution will be mainly focusing on enrolling students from Japan and other Asian Pacific countries.

Many of the lecturers are expected to be Japanese nationals as well as Sri Lankans trained in Japan.

KIU is now under construction in Sri Lanka and it is the sincere desire of the founder/chancellor of KIU and the inventor of KAATSU Training method, Professor Yoshiaki Sato to continuously make every effort to develop the KAATSU Training further, hoping that it would contribute to the health of all people in the world.
